Ultra-Wideband Development Kit: QM33120WDK2 Datasheet

Source: Qorvo

The Qorvo QM33120WDK2 Ultra-Wideband Development Kit is an all-in-one solution for developers and engineers working on UWB (Ultra-Wideband) product development and demonstrations.

Designed for flexibility and ease of use, this ready-to-deploy kit supports advanced UWB evaluations, including Nearby Interaction with iPhones, FiRa-compliant Two-Way Ranging with Angle-of-Arrival (AoA), infrastructure-less proximity tracking, and RTLS (Real-Time Location System) through DL-TDoA, UL-TDoA, and TWR techniques.

The kit includes six devices—five with integrated non-AoA UWB antennas and one with AoA capabilities—all powered by the Murata 2AB SIP. This SIP integrates the Qorvo QM33120W UWB IC, nRF52840 Bluetooth MCU, an accelerometer, power regulators, and supporting components. These devices are fully compatible with Apple U1 chips and FiRa-compliant Android devices, and maintain backward compatibility with the DW1000 UWB IC on channel 5.

Key features include robust range (up to 150 meters), built-in debugging tools, RGB and green LEDs, buzzer, haptic motor, multiple buttons, NFC connectivity, and GPIOs for external sensor integration. Power is supplied via USB-C or a 3.7V rechargeable battery (not included). The kit also includes two USB-C cables for ease of setup.

With its wide application potential—including indoor navigation, patient and asset tracking, behavioral analytics, access control, and presence detection—the QM33120WDK2 is ideal for developers exploring high-accuracy location and proximity-based services. It allows quick prototyping, seamless visualization via iOS/Android apps, and the flexibility to build custom stacks using open-source SDKs, making it a powerful tool in the UWB development landscape.
