Integrated High Voltage Power Loss Protection with PMIC: ACT85611

The ACT85611 is a highly integrated Power Management IC (PMIC) designed for applications requiring efficient power regulation and power loss protection. Operating within a wide voltage range (2.7V–14V), it includes four high-efficiency buck converters, a boost regulator, and an LDO, ensuring stable power delivery.
A key feature is its power loss protection (PLP) capability, which provides seamless transition to backup storage in case of power failure. The built-in boost converter supports high-voltage energy storage, while a synchronous buck regulator maximizes energy transfer, improving efficiency. The IC also integrates eFuse FETs for bidirectional isolation, inrush current control, and hot-swap functionality.
Designed for flexibility, the ACT85611 includes programmable storage capacitor voltage optimization, ADC-based health monitoring, and early capacitor failure detection. It supports I2C communication with password protection, configurable interrupts, and general-purpose I/Os for system control and monitoring. The proprietary control architecture maintains near-constant frequency operation, ensuring optimal efficiency across varying loads.
Ideal for solid-state drives (SSDs), industrial power systems, and backup power solutions, the ACT85611 enhances system reliability with its robust protection features, thermal monitoring, and advanced fault detection. Its compact package and high efficiency make it a valuable component in modern power management applications.
