Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is the ability of systems, equipment, and devices that use the electromagnetic spectrum to operate without suffering unacceptable or unintentional degradation. Threats to EMC are tested in these four categories: radiated immunity, radiated emissions, conducted immunity, and conducted emissions. It is important for all components and systems meet the EMC test standards as well as meeting their own specific needs in terms of EMC. This application note offers guidelines for common EMC standards used across the industry.
