Z-Communications, Inc. Introduces Another High-Performance C-Band Oscillator With Exceptional Phase Noise For Next-Gen RADAR, SATCOM And Test & Measurement
Z-Communications, Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs), today announced the launch of the CRO7000X2-LF. This new C-band oscillator is engineered to meet the stringent demands of modern RADAR, SATCOM, and Test & Measurement applications by delivering a signal with superior spectral purity.
The CRO7000X2-LF provides a fixed RF output of 7000 MHz and operates within a tuning voltage range of 0.5-4.5 Vdc. This low tuning range ensures seamless compatibility with many of the most popular Phase Locked Loop (PLL) ICs currently on the market. Key technical highlights of the new oscillator include:
- Exceptional Phase Noise: Features a value of -106 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset, providing the clean signal required for high-sensitivity designs.
- Low Power Consumption: Operates at a supply current of 35 mA from a standard 5 Vdc supply.
- Harmonic Suppression: Delivers a typical 2nd harmonic suppression of -25 dBc.
- Compact Form Factor: Housed in Z-COMM’s industry-standard MINI package (0.5 x 0.5 x 0.22 inches), making it ideal for space-constrained production environments.
Designed for elite signal clarity, the CRO7000X2-LF simplifies the engineering workflow. Z-COMM notes that by matching the unit’s tuning voltage to common PLL setups, they are making it easier for developers to launch the next wave of high-frequency wireless technology.
The device is available on tape and reel for automated production. Detailed technical specifications and VCO product catalogs are available through the Z-Communications website.
