Z-Communications, Inc. recently announced the release of a new model of a coaxial resonator-based VCO in the UHF-band that is RoHS compliant. The new model, ZRO0743B2LF which is the first VCO of an exciting new series of products in development by Z-COMM, operates from 738-748 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0-6 Vdc. This VCO features an excellent typical phase noise of -131 dBc/Hz @ 10 KHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 2 MHz/V.

The ZRO0743B2LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 9 dBm at 8 Vdc supply while drawing 23 mA (typical) over the temperature range of -40º to 85º C. The ZRO0743B2LF has a typical phase noise value of -104 dBc/Hz @ 1 KHz offset and -151 dBc/Hz @ 100 KHz offset. This VCO features typical 2nd harmonic suppression of -20 dBc and comes in Z-COMM's newly developed ZMX-14-SM package, measuring 0.75 in. x 0.75 in. x 0.22 in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. The ZRO0743B2LF is also ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow assembly process.

The ZRO0743B2LF is suitable for satellite communication and many other applications that require superior phase noise performance.
