remcom wireless insight

Remcom’s Wireless InSite® Wireless Mobility is advanced electromagnetic simulation software designed to model dynamic wireless environments. It enables users to simulate the movement of people, vehicles, or aircraft with mobile or vehicle-mounted antennas across realistic 3D environments. The software captures how movement impacts multipath propagation, shadowing, signal blockage, and overall communication link performance.

Using waypoints, Wireless InSite allows users to define the motion and orientation of moving platforms, adjusting coordinates and Euler angles dynamically. It supports both time-based movement and movement based on fixed velocities, accommodating complex scenarios with multiple moving entities simultaneously.

Visualization tools show dominant multipath signal paths through a scene, highlighting how interactions with buildings, terrain, foliage, and other structures affect signal strength and reliability. This visual representation helps assess the impact of dynamic obstructions, such as a truck blocking a pedestrian’s communication link or a drone navigating urban environments.

Moreover, Wireless InSite can plot channel metrics like received power and signal-to-noise ratio over time, providing a direct understanding of how dynamic changes influence wireless system performance. These capabilities are especially valuable for industries developing 5G networks, autonomous vehicles, aerospace communication systems, and other time-sensitive wireless applications.

Overall, Wireless InSite Wireless Mobility offers critical insights into time-varying wireless communication scenarios, empowering engineers to design more robust and reliable systems.
