WinNet Introduces Ethernet Wireless System
Sunnyvale, CA-based WinNet Metropolitan Communications Systems (MCS) Inc. is shipping a 23 GHz addition to its flagship product familythe WIN-100 fast Ethernet wireless system. Designed and built to operate with off-the-shelf Ethernet devices such as routers and switches, the WIN-100 system connects buildings up to 10 miles apart at full-duplex 100 Mb/s speeds.
The WIN-100 system easily connects to local-area networks (LANs) through existing 100Base TX/FX ports on a router or switch. Corporations can use the WIN-100 system to connect their buildings in a metropolitan area, to extend their fiber-based campus networks, or to act as a backup link for protection against network outages.
Additionally, by using the WIN-100 wireless system, network service providers (NSPs) can quickly and easily extend access to their metropolitan area fiber rings. Connected to fast Ethernet wireless mesh networks, users in metropolitan areas can communicate across the network as fast as if they were physically connected to the same LAN.
The 23 GHz mm-wave version of the WIN-100 family of fast Ethernet wireless products is now available. For more information on pricing and distribution, please contact WinNet MCS at 408-522-8700.
