Windows Utility For Oscilloscopes
LeCroy Corp. has developed a software utility that allows engineers to transfer screen images from a digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) to their PCs. This software product, called Scope Explorer, is a PC-based connectivity tool that integrates a LeCroy DSO with the Windows 95 or Windows NT desktop. The scope can be connected to the PC through a GPIB or an RS-232 interface. The software tool provides a teletype-like terminal that allows standard remote control commands to be sent to the scope. Using this tool, engineers can capture and store the entire front-panel setup of the scope. Waveforms acquired by the DSO may be stored in a binary or ASC II format.
