The MT9300B is a voice echo canceller that meets the latest ITU-T G.168 requirements for voice quality in converged telecommunications networks. It is a 32-channel device that uses an advanced algorithm to remove echoes created in telecommunications networks. This ensures clear and reliable delivery of voice and data in applications such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network gateways, Voice Telephony over ATM (VToA), Voice over Frame Relay (VoFR), T1/E1 multi-channel echo cancellation pools, and wireless base-stations.

The device uses a state-of-the-art algorithm to remove residual echoes, and also injects comfort noise that masks an audible switching effect caused when background noise is eliminated. The device features high QoS, lower cost and fast time-to-market. The device is an off-the-shelf solution that eliminates the need for an external processor, software support, and memory.

The device has 32 echo cancellers divided into 16 groups of two each, which can be configured in normal, extended delay or back-to-back organizations. Each group is individually controllable to provide either two channels at 64ms or one channel at 128ms. Service providers can now address several customers with the same device by programming appropriate echo tails at different price/performance points. The device minimizes power consumption, as it requires only 3.3V inputs, and is equipped with power management capability that allows individual groups of echo cancellers to be powered down when not in use.
