Vodafone Paging, Glenayre to Develop Wireless Data Messaging

Glenayre Technologies Inc. (Charlotte, NC) has entered into a broad cooperative agreement with UK-based Vodafone Paging Ltd., the paging company within Vodafone Group, aimed at furthering the development of wireless data messaging. As part of this collaborative effort, the companies will be conducting market-focus trials aimed at identifying wireless network requirements for new generation infrastructure and interactive devices. Specific applications to be tested include wireless valued-added Internet- based messaging, wireless chat, and information services.
