Telxon to Advance Windows CE-Based Wireless Telephony

Telxon Corporation has launched a new project for the development of Microsoft Windows CE-based wireless devices. The project, code named CREOSOTE, is set up to create a Windows CE- based, wireless Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone with integrated bar code scanning capability.

Phones developed under the CREOSOTE project will integrate with an on premise private branch exchange (PBX) or will directly link to public telephone systems. In addition, these devices will feature value-added applications developed using the Win32 API interface.
