Telrad LTE Solution Selected By Softcom Internet Communications For California Deployment

Significantly increasing Internet speeds for residences in Sacramento and San Joaquin counties

(PRWEB) - Telrad Networks, a global provider of TD-LTE broadband solutions, today announced that Softcom Internet Communications has selected Telrad LTE solutions for its expanding wireless Internet network in Sacramento and San Joaquin counties, California. Residents in these rural areas will now have access to Internet speeds that support high-bandwidth online applications, including streaming media services.

Softcom has been serving customers with Internet access since 1992. As technologies emerge and progress, the service provider has updated its network to adapt and continue to meet customer demand for higher speeds and better connectivity. Keeping with its heritage, Softcom is now in the process of updating its network to LTE, powered by Telrad’s comprehensive LTE solution.

Telrad’s technology enables Softcom to take advantage of a migration path, enabling the replacement of its WiMAX network with the more advanced Telrad LTE system. The software-defined radio (SDR) BreezeCOMPACT base stations provide a future-proof technology, with 3.65 GHz frequency support and simple software-only capacity upgrades over time.

The Softcom upgrade to Telrad LTE was made in order to improve its coverage area with a more efficient solution that enables better non-line-of-sight (NLOS) connectivity, overcoming areas with dense tree foliage, as well as to significantly increase capacity for its customers, who have an enormous appetite for online digital services such as video streaming, social media, gaming, and music. Softcom currently serves over 4,000 such customers in the area, mostly residential.

“With advanced NLOS features, increased capacity and a great reputation, Telrad was a clear choice for us,” commented Kevin Triplett, CEO of Softcom. “Their comprehensive LTE solution is designed specifically for fixed wireless Internet access providers like us and helps us deliver fast, reliable and low cost Internet services, especially to those residing in rural areas that have been underserved or entirely neglected by other carriers.”

“The Softcom narrative is a recurring theme we see across the country, with growing customer demand driving WISPs to seek more capacity, better coverage and the ability to invest in a technology that will carry them into the next several years,” stated Chris Daniels, Vice President and Regional GM of North America for Telrad. “Telrad is a long-term partner for service providers like Softcom, and we are proud to serve them with a cost-effective and standards-based LTE solution that will support their continued growth.”

Telrad provides a comprehensive, end-to-end LTE solution including the flagship BreezeCOMPACT base station, which delivers high performance with superior connectivity, indoor and outdoor CPE for flexible network layouts, a powerful standards-based EPC core with a reasonably priced entry point and immense scalability, and a network management system that allows for easy network provisioning and monitoring.
