Telit Wireless And Falcom Wireless Partner To Enhance GPS Technology

Los Angeles -- Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc., the US-based m2m mobile technology arm of Telit Communications, announced its parent company and Falcom Wireless Communications GmbH, the specialist in wireless communication solutions, have entered into a strategic partnership agreement integrating Telit's GSM/GPRS modules into Falcom's solutions. Effective as of July, the agreement is worth over $3 million and reaches each of Telit Communications' global markets, including North America.

Using the resources of both companies, this partnership provides Falcom access to the Telit's core technologies while Telit will in turn expand its position in the industry and consumer market. Through Falcom, Telit will be able to serve numerous niche markets either directly or indirectly that require adaptation of the modules to specific needs with rapid implementation. Initial products developed through this agreement include new applications for vehicle and device tracking based on the world's smallest quad-band GSM/GPRS module, Telit's GE864.

"We have every confidence in Telit's innovative strength. The company offers us an extremely promising development roadmap and is already supplying us with the GE864-QUAD, an outstanding GSM/GPRS quad-band module," explains Ralf Leipoldt, CEO of Falcom.

This arrangement gives Falcom a GSM network-agnostic component that enables the company to significantly optimize its logistics and establish its development processes with Telit's continued support. Telit will provide Falcom with development-related support functions and in some cases open up sales channels for Falcom products.
