Richardson RFPD Introduces Trio Of 1kW RF Power Amplifier Systems From Empower
Packaged in R5U Chassis with Guaranteed 1kW Performance over Full Bandwidth and Temperature
LaFox, Illinois: Richardson RFPD, Inc. recently announces three new 1kW solid state broadband high power amplifier systems from Empower RF Systems, Inc. (Empower).
Part of Empower's "Size Matters" campaign, the devices offer unrivaled size and power advantages, are packaged in a 5U, air cooled chassis, and deliver more than 1kW of output power from 20 to 1000 MHz. Performance is guaranteed over the full bandwidth and temperature.
Built-in control, monitoring and protection functions include user interface capabilities and event logs that allow for remote management and diagnostics via an embedded web server, enabling simple network managed site status monitoring and control by connecting the units' Ethernet ports to a LAN. Using a web browser and the units' IP addresses (IPV6) allows ease of access with the benefit of multilevel security. The control system cores support hardware encryption and run embedded, Linux operating systems.
These 1kW products are designed to be continuously monitored for critical performance parameters, including temperature, current consumption, and voltage levels, with protection and shutdown options available via the microcontrollers. This high level of device management combined with detailed thermal simulations and heat spreading techniques result in high reliability and ruggedness, making the devices ideally suited for high power continuous wave (CW), modulated and pulse applications.
