Richardson RFPD Announces Availability Of Two New High-Frequency, Low Phase Noise Oscillators From Rakon

Ultra-stable TCXOs for low-jitter and phase noise applications

Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced recently the availability and full design support capabilities for two new temperature compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) from Rakon Limited (Rakon).

The E7028LF and the voltage-controlled E7157LF are part of Rakon’s new RHT1490 product series of TCXOs that offer output frequencies from 50 MHz to 204.8 MHz and deliver leading telecommunications grade stability with a low RMS phase jitter of <200 fs (12 kHz–20 MHz). The lower system jitter allows communications system architects to optimize noise budget and performance.

Additional key features of the E7028LF and E7157LF include:

• RMS phase jitter: 168 fs (12 kHz–20 MHz)
• Output frequency:
  • E7028LF: 98.304 MHz
  • E7157LF: 100 MHz
• Significantly improved TCXO airflow resistance, reducing transient impact on frequency stability
• Frequency stability over temperature:
  • E7028LF: +/-0.28 ppm
  • E7157LF: +/-1 ppm
• Package size: 14.4 mm x 9.2 mm x 4.7 mm max.
