The Plenum Rated Radiating Cable is designed to be part of distributed wireless communications systems inside buildings where strict building code requirements prevail. The radiating cable features slots in the outer conductor that permit the emission of radio signals along the length of the cable. This facilitates wireless usage inside buildings and other enclosed places where signals from regular, point-source antennas cannot reach.
The plenum rated cable has all the features of regular radiating cable but is specially engineered and constructed to meet the highest level of fire retardance in the National Electric Code. They are used where fire codes require plenum rated cable.
The cable utilizes air dielectric design and has an annular corrugated outer conductor, Teflon insulator, and bright blue jacketing to distinguish it from other types of cable. It is available in ½" dimension and utilizes standard ½" foam cable connectors.
