Quickturn Files Suit Against Mentor Graphics

Quickturn Design Services has filed a lawsuit against Mentor Graphics and its wholly owned subsidiary, MGZ Corp., is the US District Court located in Delaware. In the suit, Quickturn alleges that Mentor has made false and misleading filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In these filings, Quickturn says that Mentor has failed to disclose the full impact of the adverse rulings in its various patent litigations.

Quickturn is seeking an injunction against Mentor. Through this injunction, Quickturn is trying to block Mentor's acquisition of Quickturn.

Quickturn's lawsuit came one day after the company rejected Mentor's unsolicited $216 million bid (see Quickturn Board Reviews Mentor Graphics Offer). Quickturn says it rejected the offer because its board deemed the Mentor offer inadequate and not in the company's best interests.
