Qualcomm Selects Three-Five to Develop Displays

San Diego, CA-based Qualcomm has selected Three-Five Systems (Tempe, AZ) to work on a liquid crystal display (LCD) module design for its fifth-generation digital cellular phones. Under the pact, Three-Five will begin shipping the modules to Qualcomm later this year, pending qualification of first production orders.

Qualcomm's fifth generation cellular phones will incorporate the LCD module, display electronics, and a backlighting system. These products will be distributed in the Americas and other CDMA markets.
