1.5-3.5 OSL Calibration Kit For Complete Single-Channel Calibration

What is a 1.5-3.5 calibration kit for? Simple: coaxial connectors play crucial roles in transmitting RF signals between base stations and remote radio heads (RRHs ) on the one hand and antennas on the other.

Their plug connections need to meet these requirements:

  • Low transmission losses
  • High fault resistance
  • Low space requirement

Over the last few years, the 4.3-10 series has been replacing the older market standard with 7-16 connectors. And the miniaturization trend with smart cells and 5G networks is picking up speed.

The 1.5-3.5 series features the successful design pioneered by the low-PIM 4.3-10 series but with smaller dimensions. While the 4.3-10 series is similar in size to a conventional type N connector, the 1.5-3.5 series is much smaller to meet the typical space requirements of the SMA series. It’s a logical extension of the connector family comprising 4.3-10 and 2.2-5.

The robust and highly compact PIM-resistant design of the 1.5-3.5 calibration kit delivers proven SPINNER quality you can depend on. A typical 1.5-3.5 flanged socket with four attachment holes only requires 15 x 9.7 mm or 12.7 x 12.7 mm of space. As a result, the 1.5-3.5 series, which is based on the SMA form factor, occupies about 47% less space than the 2.2-5 series and as much as 75% less than the 4.3-10 series.

So far, so good. But what happens when you need to calibrate network analyzers in the lab? Until now, the only solution has been a workaround with a 4.3-10 or 3.5 mm calibration kit. No longer! SPINNER now offers you a 1.5-3.5 OSL (open, short, load) calibration kit for complete single-channel calibration up to 13 GHz.
