Nordic To Showcase Comprehensive Wireless Connectivity Solutions At Light + Building Autumn 2022 Exhibition

Nordic’s Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth Mesh, Matter, Thread and Wi-Fi solutions provide a one-stop-shop for building and lighting automation applications

Nordic Semiconductor will showcase its complete portfolio of wireless connectivity solutions at the upcoming international Light + Building Autumn 2022 exhibition. The industry’s leading professional lighting and building automation trade show will be staged in Frankfurt, Germany from October 2-6.

Intelligent wireless solutions
The focus of this year’s exhibition will be on intelligent and connected building and lighting solutions, forward-looking technologies as well as current design trends. It will feature 1,500+ exhibitors from more than 46 countries. Nordic (Hall 8, Booth G50) plans a range of exciting and informative demonstrations including examples of Bluetooth® Mesh- and Matter-powered solutions based on the company’s nRF53 and nR52 Series multiprotocol SoCs.

“Wireless connectivity is the driving force for innovation across both professional lighting and building automation markets,” says Lorenzo Amicucci, Business Development Manager, Nordic Semiconductor. “It enables absolutely everything.

“Energy efficient buildings, better quality indoor environments, easier installation of HVAC and lighting systems, lower cost maintenance – wireless connectivity can power it all. We look forward to connecting with customers at Light + Building to demonstrate just how powerful Nordic’s solutions are for creating tomorrow’s building and lighting technology.”

Lighting the way
Nordic Semiconductor has been leading the adoption of wireless connectivity in the professional lighting sector thanks to its market-leading expertise in Bluetooth LE and Bluetooth Mesh and its best-in-class portfolio of SoCs. The nRF53 and nRF52 Series SoCs can support all major wireless protocols for the professional lighting and building automation sector—including Bluetooth Mesh, Thread, Matter, and third party proprietary mesh—providing developers with the flexibility to select one or more protocol depending on their or their end customer’s requirements.

The nRF5340, nRF52833, and nRF52820 SoCs are all qualified for operation at an extended temperature range up to 105 ̊C, and together with the nRF52840 SoC offer generous memory allocation and dynamic multiprotocol support, ideal for a wide range of professional lighting and HVAC applications. The addition of Wi-Fi to Nordic’s portfolio with the introduction of the nRF7002 Wi-Fi 6 companion IC also provides lighting and building automation specialists with seamless Wi-Fi connectivity when used alongside the company’s existing solutions.
