LG Innotek Adopts Broadcom Bluetooth Technology For New Wireless Stereo Headset

Irvine, CA -- Broadcom Corporation announced that its Blutonium Bluetooth technology is now included in a new wireless headset from LG Innotek Co., Ltd. In addition, LG Electronics, will bundle the new BTR-1000 headset with its new LP3900 cellular phone, combining a wireless stereo headset with a microphone. This enables users to conveniently use the headset for both phone conversations and for enjoying downloaded stereo MP3-style music. Broadcom's advanced audio algorithms are a key enabler of the BTR-1000 headset, providing both a high quality stereo listening experience and a reliable audio headset for phone conversations.

Multimedia features continue to gain popularity in cellular phone handsets as device manufacturers continue to take advantage of the cord-free convenience of Bluetooth to further enhance their customers' experiences. In-Stat, a leading market analyst firm, has identified the wireless headset segment of the Bluetooth market as one of the fastest growing, with shipments of devices expected to reach as high as 90 million units per year by 2008.
