Leap Acquires Chase Telecommunications

Wireless communications carrier Leap Wireless International Inc. is acquiring Chase Telecommunications Holdings Inc., the owner of a wireless service provider and related licenses in TN. Leap currently holds a 7.2% ownership in ChaseTel.

Leap is requesting that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) transfers the ChaseTel 15 MHz C-Block licenses to Leap, allowing Leap to serve about 6.3 million potential customers in the Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville metropolitan areas, as well as portions of six adjacent states.
