High Frequency RF Crossover

Knowles Precision Devices introduces an advanced RF crossover component that operates from DC to 40GHz, surpassing traditional solutions limited to ~6GHz. Designed as a surface-mount device, it replaces complex multilayer PCB constructions, offering a more cost-effective and simpler alternative for high-frequency applications. The crossover features a patented grooved ceramic channel, allowing seamless transmission of RF or DC traces without complex routing.
This innovative solution provides exceptional performance, achieving over 40dB isolation from DC-10GHz and over 30dB isolation from 10-40GHz, along with strong return loss characteristics. Its compact size (0.15” x 0.10” x 0.02”) enables easy integration into space-constrained designs.
Target applications include aerospace, defense, telecom, and radar, particularly in high-frequency bands such as X, Ku, K, and Ka, where existing solutions fall short. By using Knowles’ crossover, engineers can simplify PCB layout, minimize VSWR issues, and enhance overall system performance. The device facilitates increased throughput in communication systems and improves radar resolution.
