Global GSM Gives Third Generation Standing to Three Finish Companies

The GSM Association today welcomed the world's first licensed third generation mobile operators into its membership. Three current GSM operators from Finland, Sonera Ltd., OY Radiolinja Ab, and Telia Ab Branch, were the first networks to have been granted third generation mobile communications licenses in the world.

The GSM Association today represents the interests of 347 GSM, satellite, and 3G network operators, regulators, and administrative bodies from 133 countries and areas of the world.
