FPGA Express 2.0, developed by Synopsys, allows engineers to design and synthesize field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and complex programmable-logic devices (CPLDs). This electronic design automation (EDA) tool features FPGA Time Tracker that estimates timing delays after synthesis. This feature allows designers to identify and resolve timing issues before spending time with FPGA place-and-route tools. The EDA tool also includes a speed/area switch that allows engineers to tailor the synthesis process to meet specific design requirements for speed and area.
