Ekahau And Fluke Networks Jointly Develop Wi-Fi Survey Tools

Saratoga, CA and Everett, WA -- Ekahau Inc., announced that Fluke Networks is incorporating Ekahau's Wi-Fi site survey technology to create planning and measurement tools for testing 802.11 coverage and performance.

The first jointly developed product, Fluke Networks' InterpretAir WLAN Survey software, is created specifically to assist networking engineers who design and optimize Wi-Fi networks for applications like Voice over WLAN (VoWLAN) and other high-performance uses. As corporate wireless networks continue to grow at a healthy rate, many companies are ready to adopt Wi-Fi for a campus-wide use, and therefore are more and more concerned about reliable 24/7 wireless connectivity within the Wi-Fi service area, and cost-effective placement of access points.

"Installers of Wi-Fi systems need reliable test and measurement tools to help them design and optimize wireless networks," said Mike Hadley, Fluke Networks Wireless Product Marketing Manager. "Fluke Networks will be integrating Ekahau technology into a range of new products that enable installers to maximize WLAN performance at all stages of the wireless network lifecycle, from planning and deployment through troubleshooting and expansion."

Fluke Networks' InterpretAir WLAN Survey software specifically uses Ekahau's Site Survey technology to analyze and visually plot Wi-Fi coverage and performance throughout the corporate campus, and draws a visual coverage map overlaid on top of building floorplans, so that network engineers can adjust Wi-Fi access points as needed to ensure optimal network performance.

"Teaming up with Fluke Networks, which is the undisputed industry leader in network test, monitoring and analysis, allowed us to jointly fine-tune our software to meet the high requirements needed by Wi-Fi integrators," said Antti Korhonen, President and CEO of Ekahau. "Combining the leading technology from Ekahau with Fluke Networks' innovative network solutions makes this deal a clear win-win for both companies."

Fluke Networks' InterpretAir, featuring Ekahau technology, will be sold worldwide through Fluke's direct and indirect sales channels.
