DSP Research's Tiger 549/PC digital signal processor (DSP) development system is based on Texas Instruments' (TI's) TMS320C5000 platform. Suited for wireless systems, this ISA board features a 100 MIPS 'C549 DSP and 256 kB of random-access memory (RAM). The board also supports several host communications options. A 16-b register interface allows for transfers between the host and the 'C549. For direct host access of the 'C549, the host port interface of the 'C549 can be mapped to the ISA bus. Development tools are available for the DSP board. These tools include TI's Optimizing C compiler with assembler, linker and loader; GO-DSP's Code Composer; and the DB5xxC source-level debugger.
