DSP Boards

Blue Wave Systems announces the availability of the PCI/C6400, a DSP board that provides 6400 MIPS of signal processing power in a single PCI slot. Supporting up to four Texas Instruments TMS320C6201 processors, this processor engine is optimized for resilient, multi-channel processing for media streaming tasks such as voice processing.

The PCI/C6400 architecture is suited for cellular base stations. It provides an ECTF compliant H.100 Speech Bus interface, using a Lucent T8100 Timeslot Assigner. This keeps timeslot traffic off the host bus and offers simple synchronization and transfer of voice data between other H.100 equipped boards.

Each DSP has access to up to 16MB SDRAM memory, that combines with a broad set of support tools. An optional Motorola MPC860 PowerQUICC processor allows critical real-time, on-board control, signaling and data management tasks to be handled independently of a host processor.
