DC Converter System - DCPLUS
Each DC to DC converter uses PCP's advanced high frequency (50 KHz), MOSFET circuitry. PCP first introduced its MOSFET DC to DC converters in 1981. Thousands of these converters are in service in telecommunications applications.
The converter's 50 KHz technology provides high efficiency, excellent voltage regulation, superior transient response, and clean, quiet operation. Various converter modules are offered for operation from +24 VDC, -24 VDC, and -48 VDC battery plants. Each converter module is rated at approximately 500 watts and contains an integral fan for horizontal cooling. Converter modules are offered in an N+1 configuration. Multiple converters can be paralleled for higher power requirements – up to hundreds of amperes.
The converter mounting shelf is totally front access and is 7" (18 cm) high (4 RU). The 19" (48 cm) wide shelf will accept three converter modules; the 23" (58 cm) wide shelf will accept four converter modules. Both shelves are 13-1/2" (34 cm) deep. Total weight of a 23" wide mounting shelf with four converter modules is 40 lbs/18 kg.
