China Unicom Joins CDMA Development Group

The Costa Mesa, CA-based CDMA Development Group (CDG) announced yesterday that China United Telecommunications Corp. (UNICOM) has become a member of the group. China's second largest carrier joins more than 100 other worldwide companies that have already signed up for the CDMA organization.

By signing adding China Unicom as a member, the CDG is hoping to increase the presence of CDMA technology in the Chinese market.

"China's telecommunications marketplace has a bright and promising future," says Perry LaForge, executive director of CDG. "The CDG looks forward to contributing to the accelerated development of China's telecommunications industry."

The CDG is a non-profit trade associations formed to foster the worldwide development, implementation and use of cdmaOne. The group has more than 100 companies, which includes both operators and equipment manufacturers. For more information on CDG, visit http://www.cdg.org.
