Cadec Corporation, a leader in providing onboard logistics management to the transportation industry, and Aether Systems, Inc., a leading provider of wireless data products and services, today announced that Cadec has adopted Aether Fusion(TM) to provide cost-effective, real-time wireless data access to the transportation industry.
The announcement was made today at a joint press conference at the National Private Truck Council's Annual Education/Management Conference and Exhibition. Aether Fusion(TM), Aether's single-source foundation for wireless access to information and applications, will provide wide area wireless connectivity to Cadec's Mobius TTS(TM), a high-powered onboard computer running on a Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE platform.
Mobius TTS provides access to accurate, precise data such as vehicle monitoring, automated DOT logs and fuel tax reporting with the intelligence, flexibility, and capabilities of a powerful desktop computer. Mobius TTS currently uses short range RF to transmit data between the truck and the office. By incorporating Aether Fusion with Mobius TTS, Cadec will be able to offer its customers secure and reliable wide area wireless access to real-time data.
