butlerNetworks Selects Ensemble Communications' Fiberless System for ationwide Broadband Wireless Network Deployment in Denmark
butlerNetworks A/S, Denmark's first carrier to deliver broadband services using fixed wireless access, announced today that it awarded Ensemble Communications Inc. a multi-year, multi-million dollar commitment for the purchase of Ensemble's next-generation FiberlessTM system. butlerNetworks has begun the commercial rollout of the Fiberless point-to-multipoint platform to offer high-bandwidth services over its licensed 26 GHz spectrum in order to meet the growing demands for integrated broadband connections by businesses throughout Denmark.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ensemble will supply the Fiberless 16200 base station, the Fiberless 320 customer premise equipment and Fiberless Network Management System to the Copenhagen-based carrier for its nationwide
rollout.
"We are proud to enter into this partnership with Ensemble Communications," said Nina Wahl Asmussen, Managing Director of butlerNetworks. "We have carefully evaluated broadband wireless solutions on the market and expect the third-generation equipment from Ensemble to fulfill both our present and future needs. We are impressed by Ensemble's innovative solutions and its professional market approach, and we are confident that by introducing the Fiberless solution, we will obtain a unique market position by offering Danish businesses a differentiated, cost-effective solution."
butlerNetworks leverages and extends the benefits of high-capacity backhaul networks using Ensemble's market-leading Fiberless system. The fixed wireless carrier also has established key channel partnerships with telecom operators, Internet service suppliers and hosting companies to deliver quality broadband access to business customers over its fixed wireless network.
Ensemble's Fiberless system is fueled by its patented AdaptixTM technologies, consisting of Adaptive Time Division Duplexing (Adaptive TDD), Adaptive Modulation and Adaptive Time Division Multiple Access. Combined with the highest-speed burst modems in the industry, Adaptix enables each Fiberless base station to serve the varying broadband traffic demands of hundreds of businesses over a large geographic area.
"We are delighted to have earned the confidence of butlerNetworks, a next-generation carrier that truly recognizes the value of
point-to-multipoint fixed wireless as a scalable, cost-effective way to deliver broadband services to businesses on a national basis," said Dave Twyver, president and CEO of Ensemble. "With its emphasis on customer service and strong network of partnerships, butlerNetworks is uniquely positioned to lead the Danish market by offering a new class of local services that were not possible before."
This deployment marks the European availability of Ensemble's carrier-class Fiberless 16200 base station and Fiberless 320 CPE for interconnection with ATM backhaul networks. Addressing 24, 25, 26, 28, 31 and 38 GHz frequencies, the system currently is also being deployed by customers in North America, South America and Asia Pacific.
