Base Station Timing Components

Three base-station timing components feature global positioning system (GPS) technology to help wireless-network-equipment manufacturers synchronize their base stations for high-quality voice and data transmission.

The products include two GPS time and frequency reference receivers, the HP 58533A and 58540A. Both are compact units designed for easy installation and integration into wireless base stations.

The HP 58540A can support the timing requirements of both CDMA and GSM networks. It can meet the long-holdover specifications often stipulated for CDMA systems. The HP 58533A supports GSM networks only.

Both receivers provide timing synchronization for paging and emerging E-911 networks, that use GPS technology.
