Arralis Launches SmallSat Integrated Low-Profile K/Ka Band Transceiver
Irish company Arralis, international leaders in building technology and products that are the future of global radar & wireless communications, recently announced the launch of its new K/Ka-Band transceiver for all satellite applications. The LE-KaTR-102 transceiver, which is designed to fit within a 1U cubesat profile (100 x 100 x 100mm), offers coverage between 27 and 30.5GHz in the uplink band and 17 to 21.2GHz in the downlink band.
The system utilises Arralis’ Leonis MMIC portfolio and employs a fully integrated VCO and PLL with IQ mixers, for high speed data communication links between the satellites and ground-based stations. The Leonis chipset was developed to meet the growing demand for low cost K/Ka band satellite equipment that is simple to interface with current digital internet hardware.
“Our experienced integrated MMIC design team, and companywide capability from antenna design right through to full system integration, has enabled us to meet the challenges of developing this low profile, integrated system”, said Michael Major, Transceiver Principal Design Engineer, Arralis. “We see the LE-KaTR-102 transceiver as an important component in the future delivery of LEO mega constellations and the realisation of worldwide high-speed data communications.”
Arralis is looking forward to working with interested customers who wish to evaluate the system.
The company are also excited to announce their expansion into the US market with the official opening of their Florida office in Daytona on Monday 12th of August.
