Exar has developed a +3 VDC family of digital-to-analog converters (D/As) for cell phones and two-way pagers. The XRD54L08/L10/L12 D/As offer 8-, 10-, and 12-b resolution and draw 188 mW maximum power during operation. Housed in 8-pin SOIC and DIP packages, the D/As feature a buffered voltage output, a flexible output range, and power on reset. In addition, the D/As support a 13 ms typical settling time.
