Details

The RF3320 is a reverse path, programmable gain amplifier designed for use in cable modems, set-top boxes and pay-per-view systems. This component highlights the company's recent efforts in the field of broadband communications.

Operating from a single 4.75V-5.25V (5V) power supply, the device offers a 26dB maximum voltage gain and a minimum -22dB voltage gain affording a 50dB, digitally programmable gain range. The 63dbmV maximum output power meets DOCSIS return path standards. The device is serially programmable, output control is selectable in 1.0dB steps via a three-wire digital bus for compatibility with existing standard baseband chipsets. The device's operating range of 5MHz-65MHz covers current U.S. and European systems. Other features include transient switching compatibility with both DOCSIS and proprietary cable modem standards, a low-current shutdown mode and differential input and output. Manufactured using an advanced silicon process technology (Si BiCMOS), the device is offered in a SSOP16-EPP package.
