San Jose, CA -- WJ Communications, Inc. launched a cost-effective, high performance and high power 10W power amplifier module operating at 10V. The ECM178 is targeted for use as a power stage amplifier in PAS/PHS base stations and repeaters where high linearity and high power are required.

"This power amplifier is a great addition to our rapidly expanding power amplifier product portfolio and allows us to provide our customers with a complete RF component solution for RF transceivers in wireless base station and repeater applications," said Barry Lin, vice president of PAS/HBT programs for WJ Communications. "The addition of this new product to our portfolio will strengthen our leading position in the cellular and PAS/PHS infrastructure component markets and also enables us to expand our addressable market size."

The 10V ECM178 achieves a high power output of +35.5 dBm in PAS operation with an ACPR (at 600KHz offset) < -69dBc and an ACPR (at 900KHz offset) <-72dBc. The ECM178 is also an internally matched multi-stage amplifier module that achieves 33 dB gain while operating at 1.9 GHz and uses a high reliability InGaP/GaAs HBT process technology. It is packaged in a low-cost metal housing which allows the device to have a low thermal resistance and achieves over 100 years of MTTF.

The ECM178 is available for sampling now.
