26-Channel, Universal, Bidirectional Bus Transceiver Announced

Sunnyvale, CA -- Maxim Integrated Products introduces the DS3690 3.3V, 26-channel, bidirectional CMOS transmission gate. Providing 26 independent channels that can be used for input, output, or I/O signal applications, this device eliminates the signal-isolation problems associated with standard bus transceivers. The DS3690 saves both cost and board space in applications such as point-of-sale terminals, PIN pads, and cryptographic processors in which a downstream component must be isolated from an address or data bus in a timely manner.

Each of the DS3690's 26 independent channels consists of two pins. Because each channel is bidirectional, either of its pins can be used as the input pin for a unidirectional signal. A change in logic state on any one side of the channel is directly reflected on the opposite side of that channel.

Packaged in a lead-free, 5mm x 11mm x 0.8 mm, 56-pin TQFN, the DS3690 is fully specified over the -55 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius extended temperature range.
