Spectrian Completes Amplifier Field Trials

Sunnyvale, CA-based Spectrian has completed five trials for its PowerStack multicarrier power amplifier (MCPA). In all five trials, Spectrian says the PowerStack amplifier met or exceeded expectations for performance and reliability.

Specifically designed for wireless applications, the PowerStack family of MCPAs is available in multiple configurations. Overall, engineers can stack four PowerStack amplifier modules in a 19-in. or 23-in. rack to achieve up to 350 W output power.

Power Stack MCPAs are designed to achieve –65 dBc intermodulation distortion performance (IMD), 30 to 60 dB gain per module, and better than 8% efficiency. Gain can be increased in each module through an optional preamplifier. When using this preamp, each module can reach 85 dB maximum gain figures.

The PowerStack amplifiers are currently in production. Pricing information is available from Spectrian at 408-745-5400.
