Saelig Introduces Euroquartz Miniature SMD Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillators For Real-Time Clock Applications

Intended for low-power clocks, the new EME32T series of TCXOs need as little as 0.79uA at 1.8V

Saelig Company, Inc. has launched the Euroquartz EME32T Series temperature-compensated crystal oscillators, supplied in a miniature 4-pad ceramic SMD package. This new range of miniature surface-mount TCXOs offers very low current consumption, ideal for use in 32.768kHz real-time clock applications. These SMD-packaged clocks come in a selection of optional supply voltages - 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.0V, 3.3V and 5.0. Their very low current consumption - as little as 0.79uA at 1.8V - is a major advantage in battery-controlled applications, while frequency stability is just ±5ppm over temperature range from -40 to +85degC.

Frequency stability versus voltage change is ±0.2ppm for a ±5% input voltage change, while frequency stability against ageing is ±3.0ppm maximum for first year. Additional specifications include initial calibration tolerance of ±1.5ppm at 25degC ±2%, timing error over time of 2.628m/year, CMOS output logic with load of 15pF, 100ns maximum rise and fall time and duty cycle of 50% ±10%. Start-up time is 1s maximum at 25degC (3s maximum over operating temperature range).

EME32T Series temperature-compensated crystal oscillators are made by European frequency product specialist Euroquartz, an independent UK-based manufacturer and supplier of quartz crystals, oscillators, filters and frequency-related products to the worldwide electronics industry. The company is AS9100 registered and designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of frequency control components for a wide range of customers for military and aerospace, communications, general electronics, computing, control systems and petrochemical applications. The EME32T Series TCXOs are available now from Euroquartz' USA technical distributor Saelig Company, Inc.
