Rogers New Manufacturing Plant Open for Business In Europe

Customers for Rogers' (Rogers, CT) RO4000 family of materials now have a dual source of supply for this product—a second laminate manufacturing plant is now open for business, in Europe.

Sales of the RO4000 materials grew 40% last year, prompting the company to build the new plant in Ghent, Belgium. Ghent is the location of the Rogers N.V. technical sales office, and several other Rogers manufacturing operations. The new plant complements the high-frequency circuit materials plant in Chandler, AZ, which was also the site of a multi-million dollar capacity expansion in 1998.

At the board meeting that followed the annual meeting of stockholders, the directors voted to authorize the repurchase of as much as $2.0 million of company stock. A total of 39,400 shares of stock were repurchased, at a cost of about $1.1 million, pursuant to the prior authorization.
