PCIA Names 1999 Officers, Executive Committee Members

George Schmitt, president of Omnipoint Communications (Colorado Springs, CO) and a 34-year telecommunications industry veteran, was elected chairman of the Personal Communications Industry Association (PCIA; Alexandria, VA) board of directors. Schmitt, who previously served as the association's treasurer, takes the helm from William Collins, chairman and CEO of Metrocall (Alexandria, VA).

Joining Schmitt are vice chairman Gary Cuccio, president, AirTouch Paging (Dallas); treasurer Eric Ensor, president, Telecom Wireless Solutions Inc. (TWS; Alpharetta, GA); and secretary Ed Baker Jr., chairman and CEO, Arch Communications Group (Westborough, MA).
