Racal Instruments Inc.ME is a member of the ProCLAIME series of protocol testers and provides the user with full layer 2 and layer 3 monitoring capability for the Um interface in a GSM based digital radio environment, together with full emulation of a Phase 2 GSM mobile terminal. This test tool provides the GSM BTS software designer with all the facilities needed to monitor, debug and fault find protocol interchanges on the Um interface at layers 2 and 3. The ability for assessment of the integrity of traffic frames across the air interface is also provided.
The test system is based on a 6113 or 6113E Digital Radio BTS Test Set. A separate PC software package is provided which controls the 6113 via a GPIB /IEEE488 interface, provides the user with a script editing facility, logs and displays all the layer 2 and 3 signaling exchanges with frame and time stamps and logs all the traffic frames.
