About Us
Micron is one of the world's largest companies focused on memory, storage and imaging semiconductor products—from DRAM to NAND Flash to CMOS image sensors. Micron's leading-edge semiconductor products are designed to add differentiated value to the mobile, computing, server, automotive, networking, security, industrial, consumer and medical applications its customers develop.

Innovative Technology

Wireless, handheld products that offer a combination of computing, mobile, and imaging capabilities typify today's on-the-go lifestyle. The drive to maximize the features and functionality of these consumer products is fueled by the availability of leading-edge technology. Stringent mobile application requirements, like high data reliability, small form factor, high bandwidth, and longer battery life, are best addressed by advanced memory solutions designed specifically for those complex conditions. And camera-enabled mobile applications—where the focus is on smaller, higher-performance products that take higher-quality pictures and consume less power—are well served by the overwhelming technical advantages of low-cost CMOS technology. Micron's comprehensive product portfolio is clearly mobile—encompassing both mobile memory and CMOS image sensor solutions including: Mobile DRAM, CellularRAM® memory, NAND Flash memory, Multichip Packages, CMOS image sensors.

Products

Micron offers DRAM, Flash memory, CMOS image sensors, other semiconductor components, and memory modules. All products are offered in multiple technologies, generations, configurations, and packages to meet the diverse needs of computing, server, automotive, networking, security, commercial/industrial, consumer electronics, medical and mobile applications. Micron currently provides synchronous DRAM (SDRAM), double data rate (DDR) SDRAM, DDR2, and reduced latency DRAM (RLDRAM® memory) architectures for use in various applications such as PCs, PDAs, MP3 players, servers, switches and routers. Micron also provides Mobile SDRAM and CellularRAM™ devices for consumer and mobile products. Micron's NAND flash devices target the removable storage, digital music player, and mobile handset products. Micron's CMOS image sensor solutions target the mobile handset, PC camera, PC video camera, digital still camera and emerging medical, automotive and security applications.

Quality

Some organizations limit their potential by limiting the quality improvements they make to the simple or the obvious. If the return on investment does not appear to warrant improving a process, they may opt to remain with the status quo, losing out on the hidden benefits that are realized from improving quality wherever possible. It has been our experience that although these hidden benefits often cannot be anticipated, they invariably surface and always prove to be worthwhile. It is on this basis that our organization is run - Micron's quality plan is paramount.

Micron believes that quality values must be internalized at every level of the organization. Our approach to communicating and implementing these values is one of encouragement, education and training rather than policing. Ongoing education and individual support provide employees with the tools, confidence, and motivation they need to implement Micron's quality philosophy. Through Micron's quality training program, employees learn both the importance of quality and how to measure it.
