Swiss Retailer Implements Checkpoint Systems RF Source Tagging

Migros (Zurich, Switzerland), the largest retail chain in Switzerland, is implementing radio frequency (RF) source tagging chain-wide. Checkpoint Systems Inc. (Thorofare, NJ) will deliver complete retail solutions with installation of deactivation units or an EAS system by the end of 1999. Checkpoint will install a variety of deactivation and security options including wide-aisle, Strata LX systems.

The Swiss chain plans to have source-tagged goods on the shelves by the beginning of the year 2000. Migros runs 769 stores with a broad product range including CDs, videos, cosmetics, books, apparel, shoes, toys, sports, tools, food, home electronics, computers, and software.
