ILS Technology, A Telit Company, And SAP Collaborate On Integrating deviceWISE M2M Application Enablement Platform With SAP HANA

Companies plan to demonstrate real-time M2M and IoT data analytics during MWC in Barcelona.

ILS Technology (ILST), a Telit company, announced its collaboration with SAP to integrate the deviceWISE M2M Application Enablement Platform (AEP) with the SAP HANA platform, thereby helping to allow organizations to improve operations of the devices and machines they own and operate. The integration with SAP HANA is expected to help enable new intelligence by converging applications with real-time machine-to-machine (M2M) data and Internet of Things (IoT) data from deviceWISE designed to help transform transactions, analytics, text analysis, predictive and spatial processing.

Managing business in a more connected world requires the ability to adjust in real time to a limitless number of decisions based on millions of live signals from devices and machines. Real-time M2M data analytics helps provide innovative consumer insights that can enable preventive and efficient business practices by detecting, analyzing and automating business processes around the data from the Internet of Things across industries and markets.

During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, ILS Technology will feature the deviceWISE AEP to monitor and control a refrigerator with real-time analytics on Cloud-based applications using SAP HANA The demonstration helps to illustrate how real-time analytics can help reshape the management of cold storage in industrial and retail markets. For example, food and beverage companies can use the software to help control the quality, temperature and freshness of their inventories – whether during production, while in transit, at distribution centers, or at retail. They will also be able to monitor real-time demand and inventories and improve production scheduling and logistics in ways that are aimed to result in sizeable operational efficiencies and profitability. Additionally, performance data collected from coolers and freezers can allow for predictive maintenance that is expected to significantly extend the uptime and life of the equipment.

“We expect that customers will be able to reduce cost, time-to-market and complexity when creating new IoT applications and performing analytics using data from connected remote devices via the cloud or their existing enterprise systems.”

“The collaboration between SAP and ILS Technology strengthens our position as the industry’s “One Stop. One Shop.” provider, helping to make the Internet-of-Things truly plug-and-play,” added Oozi Cats, CEO of Telit Communications, PLC, the parent company of ILS Technology.

“SAP is among the world’s most-respected organizations, bringing advanced enterprise software capabilities that can complement Telit’s wireless M2M modules, connectivity and cloud services.”

“The Internet of Things provides companies with new opportunities to improve operations, increase efficiency and help drive new business models,” said Adam Binnie, global vice president and general manager, BI Solutions, SAP.

“We are aimed at enabling the Internet of Things by providing market leading technology for real-time data access and analytics and also by creating a strong ecosystem of partners intended to deliver one of the best solutions possible. Working with innovative companies such as ILS Technology helps us offer our customers choices to realizing the promise of these new technologies.”
