Woburn, MA -- Skyworks Solutions, Inc. Skyworks Solutions today announced that Stan Swearingen has joined the company as VP and general manager of the company's Cellular Infrastructure and Wireless Data business unit, which includes discrete and passive semiconductors, GaAs switches, ceramic products, and multi-chip modules supporting cellular infrastructure and wireless data markets.

Prior to Agere, he served as president and CEO of Quantex Microsystems, a direct provider of personal computers, servers and Internet infrastructure products. Swearingen has also previously held senior management positions at National Semiconductor, Cyrix, and Digital Equipment Corp. He fills the management position created when Greg Waters assumed leadership of Skyworks' Cellular Systems business earlier this year.

"We are pleased to have an executive with Stan's experience and knowledge lead our Cellular Infrastructure and Wireless Data business," said David J. Aldrich, Skyworks' president and CEO. "Stan's skills, coupled with his understanding of next generation base stations and broadband wireless access technologies, will be a valuable asset as we build upon our already strong foundation and leadership position."
