MMMB Power Amplifier Module
Skyworks' SKY77604 is a hybrid multi-mode, multi-band Power Amplifier Module (PAM) that supports 2.5G and 3G handsets, and operates efficiently in GSM, EGPRS, EDGE, and WCDMA modes.

The PAM consists of a GSM800/EGSM900 PA block, a DCS1800/PCS1900 PA block, separate WCDMA blocks for low and high bands, RF input / output ports internally matched to 50 Ω to reduce the number of external components, and a Multi- Function Control (MFC) block. A custom BiCMOS integrated circuit provides the internal MFC interface and operation. Extremely low leakage current maximizes handset standby time.

2.5G: The SKY77604 supports the GSM850, EGSM900, DCS1800, and PCS1900 bands. The PAM also supports 2.5G Class 12 Enhanced General Packet Radio Service (EGPRS) multi-slot operation and EDGE linear modulation.

3G: The SKY77604 uses Load Insensitive Power Amplifier (LIPA®) circuitry to support WCDMA, High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), and High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) modulation at a high antenna Voltage Standing-Wave Ratio (VSWR). This functionality covers multiple bands for 3GPP including bands I, II, IV, IX, X, V, VIII.

The module is fully programmable through a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI).

The InGaP die, the silicon die, and passive components are mounted on a multi-layer laminate substrate. The assembly is encapsulated with plastic overmold.

The SKY77604 is encapsulated in a 6 mm x 8 mm, 34-pad MCM, Surface-Mounted Technology (SMT) package, which allows for a highly manufacturable, low-cost solution.

Antenna Switch Module
The SKY18108-11 is a Single Pole, Nine-Throw (SP9T) antenna switch Module (ASM) designed for dual-mode, high power band switching applications that require low harmonics and low insertion loss. The device is optimized for both GSM/EDGE and TD-SCDMA systems. It consists of an SP9T switch, GSM transmit signal low-pass harmonic filters, and a GPIO controller. The low current consumption makes this device very suitable for battery operated applications. The SKY18108-11 is manufactured in a compact, 3.2 x 2.5 mm, 20-pin Multi-Chip Module (MCM) package.

Cellular Band Switches
The SKY13397-388LF is a double-pole, five-throw (DP5T) switch designed for broadband, high-power switching applications that demand low harmonics and low insertion loss. The switch is optimized for 3G WCDMA post PA, high linearity applications such as duplexer band selection and filter switching. It features integrated logic that uses only two control lines for switch operation. The low current consumption of the device makes it very suitable for battery-operated applications. The switch is manufactured using a state of the art Silicon on Insulator (SOI) process, and is provided in a compact Quad Flat No-Lead (QFN) 2.3 x 2.3 mm package.

The SKY13330-397LF is a CMOS, Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) Single-Pole, Double-Throw (SP2T) switch that is controlled with a single bit control. The high linearity and low insertion loss of the SKY13330-397LF make it an ideal choice for WCDMA handset and data card applications, and has sufficient linearity to be used in LTE Tx applications. The switch is a "reflective short" on the isolated port. The SKY13330-397LF SP2T switch is provided in a compact Quad Flat No-Lead (QFN) 2 x 2 mm package.

The SKY13374-397LF is a CMOS Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) WCDMA band switch. The high linearity performance and low insertion loss achieved by the device makes it an ideal choice for medium to high power WCDMA handset and data card applications. The high 0.1 dB Input Compression Point (IP0.1dB) and advance proprietary fabrication process enable exceptional WCDMA harmonic and Adjacent Channel Power (ACP) performance. Excellent insertion loss and isolation is maintained over WCDMA bands 1 to 6 and 8 to 11. The SKY13374-397LF SPDT switch is provided in a compact Quad Flat No-Lead (QFN) 2 x 2 mm package with 0.5 mm lead pitch for ease of manufacturing.
