Global Market For Mobile Computing Worth $88.9 Billion By 2011

Wellesley, MA -- According to a new and updated technical market research report, The Future of Mobile Computing – IFT060A from BCC RESEARCH, the global market for mobile computing was almost $55.6 billion in 2005 and $63.5 billion in 2006. At a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.0%, this market will reach more than $88.9 billion by 2011.

Smartphones have the highest growth potential through the forecast period. With a 15.7% CAGR through 2011, this market will reach almost $17.8 billion by 2011. The largest market share belongs to notebook computers. In 2006, notebook computers held 84% of the total global market. By the end of 2011, this share will be worth $69.2 billion, more than 96% of the market.
