The cellular machine-to-machine value-added services market is poised to dominate the transportation, utility, eHealth, and emerging IoT markets. With a market value estimated to exceed $11 billion by 2020, CSPs and device manufacturers will benefit by deploying tools and services enabling a secure M2M VAS communication network.
Carrier aggregation (CA) enables mobile network operators worldwide to provide faster data, and allows mobile devices to communicate on multiple LTE bands simultaneously. This, however, creates the challenge of avoiding interference between the bands while keeping up good reception and battery life. Multiplexers are an excellent solution for CA combinations that use closely spaced bands since they provide isolation between and within bands, while allowing them to connect to the antenna at the same time. This white paper discusses the challenges of carrier aggregation, and the important benefits of using multiplexer solutions to solve them.
ViaSat, a world leader in Ka-band satellite systems, provides the ground infrastructure for the NBN Long Term Satellite Service (LTSS) that is due to launch in 2016. With a total of 24 satellite dishes across ten sites in Australia, the challenge is that the necessary antenna couplers require very specific, complex equipment for operation. In order to overcome coupler complexity, ETL Systems has developed a custom made solution that would simplify the entire coupler network.
Measuring RF power in a field environment can be a simple task which can be accomplished accurately and inexpensively. It can also involve a great deal of care and proper training to ensure equipment is accurately measured. Either way accurate field power measurements will ensure transmitting equipment is operating properly...
The masking effect of cable loss may cause your antenna to "appear" to perform more efficiently than is actually the case. In fact, it is possible to measure apparently acceptable VSWR or return loss levels even though your antenna may be completely out of operation. The purpose of this article is to provide an understanding of cable loss masking effect and explain how to avoid these pitfalls...
